It was established in 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The main motive of NIOS Admission is to increase the literacy percentage in rural areas.
It provides a simplex syllabus as compared to the other boards. It makes the students flexible enough to understand the topics and reciprocate accordingly. It examines Senior Secondary and Secondary examinations. One add on point which makes NIOS Admission 10 & 12 much valuable is the vocational courses provided after High School.
